First Specialized Meeting of the Founding Members of the NANDA-I Iran Network

The first specialized webinar on nursing assessment, featuring a lecture by Dr. Laura Rossi, President of NANDA International and one of the foremost figures in global nursing, was held on May 2, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
The event commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Vahid Zamanzadeh, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, who expressed his pleasure at hosting the webinar and affirmed his strong support for the ongoing activities of the NANDA-I Iran Network. The meeting was organized through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Mitra Zandi, Faculty Member and Coordinator of the NANDA-I Iran Network, and the collaboration of the University’s Office of the Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs, including the presence of Dr. Amir Ali Mafi, Senior Advisor for International Affairs, Ms. Fatemeh Cheraghali, International Relations & Development Analyst, and Ms. Farnoosh Farahi, Translator, along with the presence of several founding members of the Iran network.
Aimed at enhancing nurses’ knowledge and skills in the area of nursing assessment, the webinar featured an in-depth presentation by Dr. Rossi on the pivotal role of accurate assessment in advancing nursing care and improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Rossi, who has an extensive background in clinical practice, education, research, and nursing leadership, previously served for 24 years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
During the webinar, Dr. Rossi discussed the clinical reasoning process, emphasizing the critical role of nursing assessment. She elaborated on the complexities involved in the assessment process and introduced participants to globally recognized models for clinical nursing assessment. Through her valuable insights, she aimed to equip participants with strategies to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.
